Home Page News   St Benildus College "THE BEST EDUCATION MONEY CAN'T BUY" Irish Independent   Sciences 2009/2010 < back   Physics  2009/2010 Senior Certificate Physics may be studied at Higher or Ordinary level.  There is considerable emphasis on experimental work with prescribed experiments in each  section of the syllabus. Each student is expected to keep a record  of all experimental work completed over the two years. The sections in Senior Certificate Physics are Mechanics, Temperature and Heat, Waves, Sound, Light, Electricity and Modern Physics.       Higher level physics requires the application of certain mathematical skills. Higher level physics also requires the student to study one of two options:        Option 1: Particle  Physics (HL only)   Option 2: Applied Electricity (HL only)   Assessment at each level is by means of a terminal written paper.
